Day 13
Excuses (home version) by seniorprojeckkkt
Excuses (studio version -- unfinished) by seniorprojeckkkt
Last week Leah worked on a personal project which was trying to create a cover of the song Excuses by the Morning Benders. By using the home interface and microphone set up she layered many many many tracks to achieve the harmonies and overlapping vocal parts. She then took this project to the studio to lay down professional tracks. Here is the home version and the initial studio version. Since then the studio version has been completed. We just need Mr. Farmer to send us the file.
Last night we met at the studio again, this time with Saeed, and layered him into "I'm Yours" which we have now deemed a finished project (although Mr. Farmer still needs to add drums and bass). We also added bass to "Excuses" which, as previously mentioned, has also been officially completed. We have reached the halfway point in our project and Mr. Farmer has been very pleased with our progress so far. We accomplished more than we anticipated so he has agreed to let us take on a more ambitious project in the coming weeks: a cover of "Wait For Me" by Hall and Oates. Along with this larger project, Saeed will be recording a side project of his own: covering Nick Jonas's "Give Love A Try". That's all so far! We'll be sure to put up the finished version of our latest songs as soon as we can.

Day 12
Today Leah and Terra met at David Farmers recording studio and spent about four hours laying down tracks for "I'm Yours" and "Excuses" which currently feature Leah Divito on lead vocals and Terra Writz on backups/harmony. It was an awesome learning experience and they both had a lot of fun in the process. Mr. Farmer really knows what he's doing and it was so pleasant working with him. Both songs are now well on their way to becoming finished products so we are going to begin working on a new project tomorrow when we go back to the studio.

Day 9
Sorry there hasn't been anything new up for these past few days, it's been a crazy week! Umm this weekend's recording session didn't exactly work out as planned due to some unexpected conflicts and Mother's Day. Leah and Terra did meet for a few hours on Saturday, but they didn't have all of the necessary recording equipment so they didn't get much work done, and Leah needed to study for her Biology Test on monday.
On Monday Leah had her AP Biology test while Terra and Saeed performed for their Acting 2 final at Hawken. Then Saeed had to pick up his mom and Terra had to go to work, so we didn't meet to rehearse that day.
Tuesday Terra had a great voice lesson with her super awesome teacher Amanda Powell over in Chagrin Falls, and then she met Saeed and Leah to plan out the next week. Currently Terra and Leah are preparing to record Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" at Mr. Farmers professional studio this weekend. Saeed has also started a new project, learning both guitar and vocals for a cover of Nick Jonas's "Give Love A Try". (Terra may also be contributing on Piano)

Day 4
Terra: Well guys, today was quite eventful. There were so many learning experiences and deep conversations about bushes and whatnot. Today we added a keyboard and a second pair of headphones to our little studio, which definitely spiced things up a bit! The second headphones came in especially handy because now we can record two people at once if we want. Leah and Terra spent the morning discussing songs, specifically Beats Untitled by Laura Stephenson which they plan to cover soon. Lots of headway was made in understanding the recording software as all three of us recorded a moving rendition of Can You Feel The Love Tonight from The Lion King. After that, Saeed spent some quality time with his guitar and Leah and Terra worked on a new project: Slices Of Palama by Heathers. Unfortunately our recording adventures were cut short due to some unforseen technical difficulties, so a work-in-progress isn't being posted today. Until then we'll be using Audacity, a similar recording program, as a backup.

Update from Leah!!!!!!!!!!!:
I got the Reaper program working again so we are back in business. Also, I uploaded a few works in progress to our SoundCloud account! I will be working in the professional studio tomorrow to lay down tracks for Beets Untitled and possibly some solo work on Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel. The test recording is posted below. Its simple and nice. If I work on it tomorrow I'll post the next version so everyone can see the progress. If you click on our username next to the song title, it will also lead you to Can You Feel the Love Tonight (learning experienceeeeeee) :] The other songs we worked on have weird cracks and breaks and dog barking in the background of the recording that sound icky so I'll wait until we get better versions of them before I post them.

Day 2
Yayyy Day 2!! Leah, Terra and Saeed convened today to work on project. We took a sidetrip to get an adapter at Radioshack and shopped prospective guitars for Saeed and Sam Ash and Guitar Center. We then headed back to homebase, but realized we needed headphones to record with, so took another adventurous trip to Five Below to purchase those..and some ring pops. Then we came back and learned how to use Reaper (a recording program) by trial and error and successfully recorded 3 "songs". The attached video is a three track recording we made approx. 5 seconds after we figured out how to use the program correctly. Click on the Play button above to listen.
